Business Logic: No-/Low-/Pro-Code

Background

No-code & low-code platforms are a specific group of platforms that enable the design of applications very quickly without or just minimum coding. They do so by providing graphic user interfaces that allow creating a logical flow by dragging and dropping visual objects. And they may even give a series of templates that make the process more efficient. While the idea of no-code & low-code is similar, there are differences.

A no-code platform is aimed at users who have little or no programming knowledge. It allows creating simple applications using mainly or exclusively visual interfaces. A business logic is represented with visual artefacts. Users can manipulate these artifacts using drag and drop tools.

A low-code platform is aimed at users with different experience levels with code. It can take over some of the more mundane and repetitive tasks. Instead of copying and pasting code segments or coding every aspect by hand, the user has a visual interface to design the workflow. This approach allows building more complex applications and even enterprise-grade applications more quickly and efficiently.

Pro-code generally refers to conventional professional development. Developer and software engineers use it to write code using a programming language manually.

Build. One supports all levels of development

At Build. One, all business logic and visualization is modelled in object-oriented metadata, not in code. With the Blueprint Technology, you can create even the most complex applications at minimal cost. Stay fully flexible in all stages of development and build a perfectly tailored solution that never becomes outdated.

Build any business-logic, in backend and/or frontend. Use the built-in Rules-Engine, or the BPM-Designer, or implement complex logic with the Build. One object-oriented Logic-API. If needed, you can even go down to professional coding in the language of your choice.
